This sweet little “Matilda” sampler was one of the first to join my home collection of antique samplers. She traveled home with me from England where I fell in love with her on Portobello Road in London. Such a sweet 18th century embellishment of young Eliza carrying on with her embroidery/school lessons.
I have Respectfully Reproduced this charming sampler and now offer it to you in this attractive and useful stitching bag made of French blue toile. (this stitching bag can be viewed in the collage photograph of Kit #102).
