Who doesn't love Birdeye Maple wood? Here Dennis features some of his Birdseye pieces and we also have others created for some of my class projects. Maple typically is a softwood but the Birdeye Maple is nice and firm; one of the harder woods to lathe. An abundance of this has become one of Dennis's favorite woods to create with. Hard relates to the density of the wood, not that it is difficult to lathe. And by the way, the bark of this Birdseye Maple tree is nothing that would stand out in a forest. A good eye is needed to spot It.
